We are the proud Winner of a 'Decorative' Award at CanTech the Grand Tour 2022!

We were presented with the 'Decorative' award personally by Evert van de Weg, independent expert in the field of metal packaging.

We won the award with our Wallcake Berlin cookie tin entry. This was a great assignment for a German client, whom we provided tins for in six different designs in the shape of the Wall. These contain uniformly shaped cakes that commemorate the history of the Berlin Wall. A real collector's item!

CanTech is an international magazine dedicated to metal packaging. The magazine covers all aspects of the canning industry. CanTech The Grand Tour is an international conference for tin manufacturers from all over the world.

The Box Announces Strategic Acquisition of Metal Arts

Both companies have known each other for several years and have also worked together on many occasions. Amsterdam-based Metal Arts is a renowned name in the industry and brings with it 40 years of experience.

Custom tins for Wall Cakes

A very special customer from Germany! A leading photographer accompanied our client who wanted to package special cakes. Cakes that were to be sold in Berlin. The tin has become something really special. The custom-made tins can be stacked on their sides, so they can be used to build a wall. The tins fit together seamlessly. The modern graffiti-like designs, together with the sepia-coloured old photographs, make the tin quite special. The tin itself says it all: "Eat the wall!"

The Box has once again received the BRC certificate, with an AA status! This means that we meet the most stringent requirements when it comes to the safe manufacture of food packaging.

Opportunities and developments in the world of tins and cans

My personal preference is for food packaging to be made from metal, either iron or aluminium. In terms of sustainability, cans are made from materials that are relatively easy to separate from the waste stream, and the materials are almost infinitely recyclable without loss of quality.
