UNI Packaging group, a market leader in flexible packaging, continues it’s commitment to develop new packaging solutions to expand its innovative technologies offering with the development of thermo-shrinkable sleeves.

In January, UNI Packaging finalised the integration of the expertise and technology from Serre, specialists in the manufacture of thermo-shrinkable sleeves. The machines have been installed at the UNI Packaging site in La Rochelle (Western France) which also handles rotogravure printing for the group. The plant has dedicated teams for this new technology and will maintain production continuity for existing clients, with Olivier Serre joining UNI Packaging as sleeve product director.

UNI Packaging is pursuing its strategic goals by reinforcing its development through the integration of this new expertise, allowing UNI Packaging to diversify its offering and to enter the market of shrink film packaging. The group will target luxury brands and liquid products.

These new clients will be able to discover the whole portfolio of innovative packaging solutions offered by UNI Packaging, and in particular its multiple printing skills: rotogravure, flexography and personalisation through its digital service Digiflex.

“We are always looking for new development opportunities for our products portfolio as well as internationally,” explains Christophe Caresmel, CEO UNI Packaging. “By completing our skills in rotogravure, flexography and digital printing, we will be able to enter new markets and maintain our expansion to reach our objectives by 2020.”
