The National Packaging Design and Sustainability Awards seek to promote innovation, design and sustainability in the packaging sector, as well as strengthen the link between the business world and university study. This reflects two long-standing goals in Virospack's CSR plan and its commitment to creativity and innovation, trusting in academic training and motivating young talents as Virospack increases its University support each year.

Last year, in collaboration with ELISAVA, University School of Engineering and Design of Barcelona, the company led its own awards. This year, coinciding with the 10th edition of the National Awards, Virospack has presented its challenge to a greater number of students across over 25 universities throughout Spain through a collaboration agreement signed with the Valencia Packaging Cluster, in turn collaborating with the Catalonia Packaging Cluster and the Graphispack Association — a member of IEEE (Spanish Institute of Packaging).

In the collaboration, the students create an original dropper proposal that can be built on the concepts of Design, Technology and/or Interaction with the Consumer & Innovation and Sustainability. Students must present a container with excellent functionality and the high level finish for which Virospack is renowned within the cosmetic market. In addition to an innovative design, material, opening, sealing, intake formula, dispensing or application system and other advanced atributes for enhanced functionality such as a refillable and reusable dropper pack, will be highly valued.

The Tenth edition of the National Packaging Design and Sustainability Awards enables students in different academic fields to apply their knowledge to solve real-life challenges with a case-study introduced by Virospack to reflect the actual requirements of the market. The full brief is published in the legal bases and can be found on http://clusterenvase.com/premios-nacionales.

Both the finalists and the winners will automatically be included as candidates for the Liderpack Awards, the most important awards in Spain for packaging and POS.

Another important feature of this edition in which Virospack is involved, is that a selection of the winning pieces for the Liderpack prizes, will compete to represent Spain in the "WorldStar Awards" organized by the WPO (World Packaging Organization) — the most important international packaging-related awards.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for both students and recent graduates to participate in the most prestigious national and international awards in the packaging sector, supported by Virospack through its contributions and collaboration in academic training to promote and reward talent, innovation and creativity in cosmetic packaging.
