    WorldStar Packaging Awards

    WorldStar Packaging Awards

The WorldStar Competition is one of the major events of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and is the pre-eminent international award in packaging.

The World Packaging Organisation was founded September 6, 1968 in Tokyo by visionary leaders from the global packaging community. The organisation aims to encourage the development of packaging technology, science, access and engineering, contribute to the development of international trade, and stimulate education and training in packaging.

WorldStar illustrates the continual advancement of the state of packaging design and technology and creates a living standard of international packaging excellence from which others may learn.

WorldStars are presented only to those packs which, having already won recognition in a recognised national or regional competition, either in the present year or the previous year, are compared by an expert panel of judges to similar packs from around the world.

Awards are based on the judges' consensus that a pack is superior in its category and market and better in its class in execution or innovation by comparison to others. WorldStar Awards are of equal standing. The judging panel consists of country representatives from WPO and one representative from the International Packaging Press Organisation.
