    Hoping to acquaint even more beer lovers with its distinctive brew, Burnside Brewing Co. has launched Couch Select Lager in Rexam 12 oz. cans. This is the company's first expansion into single serve packaging.

    Couch Select Lager is a Helles style pale lager brewed with quality pilsner malt, American Tettnang hops and fermented with the Bohemian lager yeast strain. Cold fermentation produces a pleasing malt flavor with a subtle hop presence. Unlike other Burnside beers, this one is filtered to create a bright lager with a crisp finish.

    "Cans have a nostalgia to them that is very appealing", said Jay Gilbert, owner and manager, Burnside Brewing Co. "They bring back memories of family gatherings and camping trips with friends. We have a great collection of old cans in our pub that became the inspiration for the Burnside Couch Select's label design. Through our partnership with Rexam, we have a classic, retro-looking package that will attract customers."

    In addition to looking good, Burnside Brewing chose to expand into aluminium cans for their many other inherent benefits. Cans are lightweight and provide complete protection from light and oxygen, preserving beer's freshness. They are durable and portable, often permitted at beaches, golf courses and other outdoor venues that don't allow glass. Cans are also the most sustainable beverage package in the world, recycled at more than double the rate of any other option.

    Rich Grimley, president and CEO, Rexam BCNA, commented on why cans make sense to help Burnside build its brand and business.

    Couch Select Lager in cans is currently available at New Seasons Markets, Whole Foods and many other independent retailers across Oregon, with plans for continued West Coast expansion.

    Noah's Spring Water brings re-sealable aluminum package to consumers with Rexam's 24oz Cap Can

    Noah's Spring Water has added the Rexam 24 oz Cap Can with closure technology from Dayton Systems Group (DSG) to its packaging mix, becoming the only bottled water available in this innovative, re-sealable aluminum container. Noah's Spring Water comes from Adobe Springs in California, has a natural 8.4pH quality and contains 110 mg. of magnesium per liter, nearly 20 times the amount in other bottled spring waters.

    Bon Affair expands into single-serve with Rexam's Fusion aluminum bottle

    Bon Affair has now expanded into the single-serve market, launching its Sauvignon Blanc Wine Spritzer in Rexam's 11.2 oz. Fusion aluminum bottle. It is one of the first companies in the US to utilize Rexam's Fusion aluminum bottle which mixes the premium look and feel of a bottle with the functionality and inherent benefits of a can. In addition to providing portability, this package is shatterproof and lightweight to help reduce shipping costs.

    612Brew targets growth with addition of Rexam cans

    Looking to expand its reach and bring its beers to even more customers, 612Brew has launched three of its distinctive craft brews - SIX, Unrated Rye IPA and Gateway Park Lager - in Rexam 12 oz cans. 612Brew's cans were designed by Adam Turman, a well-known muralist and illustrator in Minnesota's Twin Cities area. They feature bold, colorful graphics that highlight 612, the area code for Minneapolis. Adam also created a mural that adorns a wall at the brewery.

    Finch's Beer Co. goes local with move to Rexam cans

    Finch's Beer Co. is going local. The Chicago-based craft brewer has teamed up with Rexam, a leading global beverage can maker with North American headquarters in Chicago, choosing the company's 16 oz. cans as the ideal packaging choice for its line-up of beers. Finch's has already launched Secret Stache Stout, Hardcore Chimera, Finch's Pale Ale and Nuclear Winter in Rexam cans with Sobek & Set, Fascist Pig and Threadless coming soon, followed by Wet Hot American Wheat this summer.
