Berlin Packaging expands its spirits range

  • Berlin Packaging

The company is expanding its packaging proposals for spirits where classic shapes meet bolder lines, and illustrates the method it uses with customers to enhance their products, their story and their specific characteristics. The 'Packaging your Story' communication campaign conveys the company's and the producers' passion together with the stories behind and inside the bottles.

Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest Hybrid Packaging Supplier® specialising in the supply of glass, plastic and metal packaging and closures, announced an expansion of its spirits packaging range at Luxe Pack Monaco, and presented a distinctive creative approach using specific elements such as market intelligence, design thinking, and end-market logic. In conjunction with the trade fair, the company is also launching a communication campaign that illustrates the uniqueness of its offerings, holding the history of the product and its production chain in innovative packaging.

The proposals focus on originality and emotion. There are classically inspired shapes with contemporary details, as TINA and CÔME carafes, and also more unusual lines of BEBEL and CLEEF bottles designed for whisky producers looking for alternative and innovative solutions.

The portfolio also includes refined conical forms of NORAH and HARON, and shapes that emphasise creativity and craftsmanship in designing ideas with a strong visual impact of OTTO bottle (pictured).

"Luxe Pack 2023 represents a great opportunity for us to reaffirm our distinctive identity as an 360° one-stop shop for spirits packaging. Our expertise in design and innovation, manufacturing services, logistics management and the international supply chain we offer, combined with endless sourcing capabilities and distribution capillarity make Berlin Packaging | Spirits unique in the sector. This is why, in addition to announcing the extension of our packaging range for distillers in each sector, we chose to give a preview of our communication campaign where both the packaging genesis and, above all, the products are the protagonists, together with the head and heart of those who populate the supply chain. And we are among them, with our distinctive creative and collective approach to the spirits market based on design thinking that guarantees the success of our projects." — Paolo Recrosio, CEO Berlin Packaging EMEA

JOINT APPROACH TO PACKAGING INNOVATION LED BY STUDIO ONE ELEVEN

Berlin Packaging | Spirits is supported by Studio One Eleven, the company’s innovation engine, which seamlessly fuses the attributes of a design agency with the precision of a manufacturer to breathe life into groundbreaking products. Each project is carefully evaluated and managed with a comprehensive approach: product design and planning, prototyping, decoration, secondary packaging, and branding.

"Through our approach we are able to offer the optimal packaging solution for every need: innovative, sustainable, cutting-edge and customized. Our strategy of complete openness towards our customers allows us to work alongside them to offer all the sector-specific expertise that only a company like Berlin Packaging can offer. Of course, the project always focuses on the spirits product, enhancing the brand identity in conjunction with the history and special characteristics of the spirit." — Matteo Vitale, Chief Sales Officer, Berlin Packaging EMEA

In essence, solutions developed for the Spirits market produced by Berlin Packaging incorporate three crucial components into the company’s established operational framework. These components include market intelligence, a collaborative design thinking approach to innovation, where Studio One Eleven plays a pivotal role, alongside input from sales, marketing, and other industry experts. Additionally, the packaging is aligned with end-market dynamics, creating a comprehensive value proposition designed to link the packaging to the liquid. A value proposition is articulated, which aims to position the product in the proper context supported by the relevant packaging.

THE 'PACKAGING YOUR STORY' ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

A preview of a new campaign, a manifesto of the Berlin Packaging | Spirits approach was also shown at the stand. It is a graphic illustration that visually translates our focus on the stories of the producers of different liquids contained in each bottle.

Multiple subjects are the protagonists of the creativity. On the one hand, the creation process is illustrated, as each bottle is the result of a meeting of ideas and people, of customers and company experts, of analysis and design, of method and passion. On the other hand, there are the Berlin Packaging bottles that contain a story, a process involving premium materials, methods, traditions, distilleries and consumers.

This operation aims to further emphasize Berlin Packaging’s proximity and knowledge of the realities of its customers.

The planning strategy encompasses an online and offline presence, relying on an integrated media mix of digital and trade press channels.
