Personal Passions Driving Positive Change: More Recycling and More Reducing

"I want More Recycling and a key element of Berry CPI's growth is circularity. The launch of Berry's B More circular range gives our customers the chance to tap into Berry's growing PCR capabilities in the move to a circular economy and help tackle the issues of pollution and climate change."
— Dean Williams, Area Sales Manager, Berry Agile Solutions

"Many brands continue to use virgin plastic in their consumer products where it is no longer necessary. We created NEUE Water to encourage the use of 100% recycled plastic and hope to see more and more brands follow our lead!"
— Michael Lowers, Founder, NEUE Water

"I passionately believe we all need to work together to drive More Recycling by properly disposing of the plastic we use. I strive to be vigilant about checking my recycling labels to ensure all plastic is recycled properly at home, and if I could change one thing, it would be for retailers to be consistent in the use of recycling labels!"
— Sue Springett, Senior Marketing Manager, Berry Agile Solutions

"Partnering with NEUE Water to support the project team’s passion of More Recycling, Berry Agile Solutions, Llantrisant was able to demonstrate the agility and 'can do' attitude required to deliver this innovative product to market, despite perceived technical challenges inherent in the design of the bottle. Kudos to our technical team in realizing NEUE’s vision."
— Rob Jones, Plant Manager, Berry Agile Solutions

"We have a choice and ours at Berry Llantrisant is to use as much PCR as possible to help protect the environment. We always encourage our customers to use the More Recycling approach even when designing difficult to Manufacture Bottles."
— Jon Bedgood, Technical Manager, Berry Agile Solutions

Spotlight: Customer Collaboration is Key to Bringing Circular Solutions to Market Faster

Berry Global partnered with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. to improve the recyclability of food packaging with MXD6, a high-performance barrier solution for extruded articles, such as thermoformed items and extruded plastic tubes and bottles. The MXD6 barrier is recyclable up to 12% and received Critical Guidance recognition from the Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR), validating its compatibility with the Polypropylene (PP) recycling stream. Using MXD6 helps eliminate the performance and compatibility limitations of Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol (EVOH), including limited recyclability and reprocessing issues that cause degradation and contamination, and offers an alternative during material shortages.
