Click and Tint: The pen that thinks it's a brush (or vice-versa)

    • Cosmopak

Cosmopak has added a line extension to its applicator pen range, the 8ml refillable cartridge pen called Click and Tint.

The concept for this design was created in-house for foundation and sun care products that benefit from a brush-on application.

The pen body and cap can be made in metal or plastic and the ensemble has a unique Kabuki style, long bristle brush that provides a softer more generous non-streak application. It was inspired by the mineral powder brush trend.

The replaceable refill is separate and can be sold already inserted into the pen or separately with multiple cartridges. The user simply screws off the refill cap and screws it into the pen body, pumps 3-5 times and the formula flows onto the brush.

A refillable cartridge pen has significant advantages over regular pens:
    • It allows the user to see the formula is fresh on first use.
    • It can increase the shelf life and hygiene of a product.
    • It allows environmentally conscious companies to sell a basic product that can be used multiple times with a replacement cartridge.

The cartridge is designed to show the colour through the base so the user can be sure they have the correct shade at all times.
