We are launching our sustainable moulded paper packaging on stand K54 at Packaging Innovations today. Our Chief Technology Officer Patrick Willink explains more about the product, the business and the thinking behind our striking stand.

“At James Cropper PLC we have a long history of producing luxury paper in outstanding, vibrant colours that are suited exactly to brand owners’ needs. James Cropper 3D Products is a natural progression, applying our expertise in blending fibre and our mastery of colour to moulded fibre packaging. It is the combination of these skills that allows us to produce moulded fibre with a depth and consistency of colour that really stands out.

“Its high colour quality, feel and design engineering make it a real alternative to plastic in packaging, with significant advantages that add value and enhance brand experience.

“It is 100% recyclable with paper and comes from renewable sources. Not only is this great news for us all in terms of overcoming the environmental issues associated with plastic production and waste, it is also a sustainability story that will appeal to consumers.

“Innovation is at the heart of our business and that’s why we’ve created a very special exhibition stand for our launch at Packaging Innovations 2016.

A true representation of the potential of 3D design

“We approached the design of our exhibition stand in the same way as we approach 3D packaging design for our clients. You have to consider the experience first and foremost. How will people interact with it? How can we use colour, 3D design and materials more innovatively to enhance the brand experience?

“The six metre back wall of our stand is made up entirely of FSC birch wood slats, innovatively designed to be entirely self-supporting with no additional screws or fixing.

“We wanted to reflect the way we encourage our clients to think differently about their packaging - take a new perspective to unlock new value. If you move around the stand, you’ll discover new perspectives and quite dramatic visual effects, fluid and ever-changing. It’s a true representation of the potential of 3D design-engineering.

“Above all, we’ve designed the stand to encourage discussions about what James Cropper 3D Products can offer global brands in terms of our new generation moulded paper packaging. There’s plenty of space to meet with us, learn about our story and share your challenges. We’re very much looking forward to seeing you there. “
