La Mer Maze Box Wins Silver at the Trending Packaging Awards

Following a successful collaboration with La Mer last year, we are delighted to share the news that the resulting pack has been honoured with an industry award. The Trending Packaging Awards were announced on January 8th, and our entry – the Moisturizing Matte Lotion Maze Box – ended up with a Silver award, coming second after Andreas Kioroglou’s clever sustainable Viupax shoebox design won a well-deserved Gold.

The Trending Packaging Awards are a unique event in the packaging industry calendar, as the finalists are decided by the general public. At the end of last year, we submitted our entry along with hundreds of other packaging designers and manufacturers; come January “the ten most visualized projects” on the site were announced as finalists, with a judging panel awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze to their three favourite packs.

We’re pleased to say that this isn’t the first time our La Mer Maze Box has attracted industry attention. Showcased at last year’s Packaging Innovations in the London Olympia, we found that this playful pack was one of the most popular on our stand. Inspired by Chinese puzzle boxes and pinball machines, it boasts a playable labyrinth, constructed from EVA foam and printed card stock.

Subtle details come in the form of a concealed magnet, which holds the ball bearing in place, a colour-matched ribbon attachment for removing the bottle of lotion, and a chic outer sleeve.

As always, we greatly enjoyed working on this innovative and challenging brief – and we’re now delighted that we can officially call this pack an award winner.
