As of June 2010, Driscoll’s Europe began using brand new packaging for strawberries originating in the Benelux.

This new MDF (pressed wood) crate is super-solid and creates a strong in-store presentation, a perfect alternative to the wooden crates that are normally used for this purpose. The crate is produced from solid MDF and is specially treated against moisture.

This anti-moisture treatment ensures excellent quality throughout the entire fruit cycle, from picking right through to delivery. The colourful printing on the crates creates added value on the shelf and creating an almost permanent shelf presentation. The new packaging fits perfectly within Driscoll’s ambition to deliver only the finest berries.  The new MDF format is part of Driscoll’s drive to look continuously for improvements to it’s own varieties and packaging...whether with regard to raspberries, strawberries, blackberries or blueberries.
