Raw, Sustainable, and Gorgeous: PCM Decorates Prada's Luna Rossa Perfume

  • Packaging Color Manufacturing (PCM)

When Prada launched the Luna Rossa line of fragrances, the company aimed to deliver a provocative and sophisticated scent inspired by its distinct perspective on the connection between humanity and nature. The result was a potent and fresh formulation capable of evoking subtle emotions.

This unique fragrance translated its aroma to its packaging, representing a fierce clash between raw materials and the highest quality finished products, all while maintaining a commitment to environmental consciousness. Prada enlisted PCM to handle the decoration, acknowledging the company's expertise in using eco-friendly techniques to enable complete recycling after the bottle's useful life ends.

The decoration process for these flask-shaped bottles began with state-of-the-art machinery and organic inks. Techniques such as lacquering and hot stamping were employed, imparting both metallic and matte gloss to the paint. By utilizing eco-friendly materials, including 100% water-based paints and UV-drying inks, PCM added value to the project while preserving Prada's original concept.
