Robinsons' iconic beer, Old Tom, continues to cement itself as one of the leading beers in the UK with another set of awards to add to its ever growing list of accolades.

The competition, held annually by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers), judges a selection of regional beers in a blind tasting. The regional champions are judged once again at SIBA's BeerX event to crown the overall champion.

SIBA's panel of expert judges, comprised of 70 leading industry experts including regional brewers, industry figures and suppliers, were wowed by the dark 8.5% ABV beer, which has been brewed by Robinsons Family Brewers since 1899.

Fighting off fierce competition from over 325 cask and bottled beers, Old Tom emerged the competition's 'Top Cat' with an award for Gold in the Premium Strong Beers category and Bronze for the Overall Regional Champion.

Gill Yates, Brands Manager for Robinsons Brewery said: "This recognition continues what has been an incredible year for Old Tom. This award, along with others throughout the year, really cements the beer as the gold standard when it comes to strong premium ales."

Old Tom will enter as the North West's finalist for the SIBA National Awards at next year's BeerX event.

-Personally, we just want to add that the bottle looks great!

Rawlings offers Luscombe a new packaging concept

Luscombe produces a range of high end drinks that are filled in flint and amber bottles. In the past the filling approach required two different bottles and the amber bottle used by the firm was underperforming. Instead of sourcing a bottle from overseas or creating a single bespoke amber bottle, Rawlings opted to create a single tailored mould for the company. This not only solved past problems but also allowed for design improvements and permitted both bottles to be produced using an interchangeable head.
