Managing packaging across a large portfolio of wellness brands takes more than reliable supply. It requires flexibility, proactive support, and trusted partners who can help navigate constant operational and regulatory change.
For Better Being Co., TricorBraun provides that combination of expertise, responsiveness, and strategic support.
“Today, the relationship is highly strategic, transparent, and collaborative,” said Andrew Seelos, COO of Better Being Co. “TricorBraun has evolved beyond a supplier into a trusted partner that understands our business, anticipates our needs, and brings forward solutions proactively.”
That partnership has been built over decades of collaboration and deeply integrated teamwork.
“We’ve created one of the most unique, true partnerships I’ve ever been a part of,” said PJ Carver, Vice President of Supply Chain at Better Being Co.
“Their success matters to us, so we’re constantly looking for ways to help solve problems and support their goals,” said Packaging Consultant Todd Evertsen.
Supporting a Complex Packaging Ecosystem
TricorBraun supports Better Being through a dedicated account team that combines strategic packaging expertise with decades of account knowledge. The team includes Evertsen, Account Manager Kaitlynn Mieners, and Account Coordinator-Inventory Specialist Sunde Davidson, who has supported the Better Being account for more than 20 years.
“They’ve helped us streamline in several ways, including consolidating suppliers, optimizing packaging specifications, and improving forecasting alignment,” said Seelos. “Their ability to manage complexity on our behalf allows our internal teams to stay focused on higher-value activities.”
Today, TricorBraun supports more than 200 SKUs and coordinates with dozens of vendors worldwide, helping manage packaging procurement, inventory, sustainability initiatives, and day-to-day operational support across the company’s growing portfolio of brands.
Navigating Sustainability and Regulatory Change
As packaging regulations continue to evolve, Better Being has relied on TricorBraun’s consultative expertise to help navigate changing requirements.
“The regulatory landscape is evolving quickly, and staying ahead requires both subject matter expertise and practical implementation guidance,” said Seelos. “TricorBraun has helped us navigate the ambiguity with confidence.”
That consultative support has helped identify opportunities to reduce material usage and lower costs without compromising product integrity or the consumer experience. One initiative involved transitioning select products from flip-top dispensing caps to standard continuous thread caps, reducing resin usage while maintaining the functionality consumers expect.
“We identified a packaging change projected to save approximately $836,000 annually while reducing resin usage by more than 150,000 pounds per year,” said Evertsen.
Creating a Closed-Loop Reconditioning Program
One of the most impactful sustainability initiatives within the partnership has been a reconditioned drum and tote program developed through TricorBraun Industrial Services (TBIS). Initially, Better Being believed its used drums and totes were being successfully recycled after disposal. But after evaluating the process, TricorBraun identified an opportunity to create a more sustainable closed-loop system.
“TricorBraun brought forward the idea as part of a broader effort to evaluate cost and sustainability opportunities within our packaging ecosystem,” said Seelos.
Today, used containers are collected, cleaned, recertified, and returned to the supply chain for reuse.
“It’s a clear example of how operational efficiency and sustainability can go hand in hand,” said Seelos. “The program reduces waste, lowers material costs, and strengthens supply continuity.”
Over the past 9 to 10 months, the initiative has collected and reconditioned 1,697 steel drums and 670 IBC totes, returning them to the marketplace for reuse. In addition to environmental benefits, the program improved workplace safety by eliminating the need to crush steel drums before disposal.
“We didn’t wait for them to ask,” said Evertsen. “We saw the opportunity and built the solution.”
Built on Trust and Transparency
“We yell at each other, we cry on each other’s shoulder, and we break bread together, all in the spirit of transparency, fairness, and our mutual goal of growth,” said Carver.
While the partnership began with packaging, it has evolved into something much larger: a shared commitment to solving challenges, creating opportunities, and growing together.
“I have an employee badge there,” he said. “I can walk through the facility and work alongside their team. That level of trust is what I’m most proud of.
