TricorBraun names new president and CEO

TricorBraun, a global packaging solutions leader, is pleased to announce that Court Carruthers will become the company's President and CEO effective October 30, 2017. He succeeds the company's long-serving President and CEO, Keith Strope, who will become Executive Chairman. Strope noted the move is part of a long-term succession plan. "To accommodate our aggressive growth strategy, we need to continue building strong leadership into the future. I have enjoyed working with Court as a member of our board and am excited about working closely with him as CEO. TricorBraun Design & Engineering Group today announced that Eileen Krumm has joined the company as an Industrial Designer. She reports to Industrial Design Manager Samantha Juna and is based in Oak Brook, Illinois. In this role, Krumm designs and develops custom rigid packaging solutions for CPG (consumer packaged goods) brand owners located across the globe. With market insights and consumer trends in mind, Krumm works directly with clients to understand their needs and design imaginative concepts specific to required materials and manufacturing processes.

Bentonite Performance Minerals LLC (BPM), a subsidiary of Halliburton, recently came to TricorBraun with a tall order – they wanted to redesign their current cat litter package to develop a more robust bottle design with less material. BPM also wanted to lower costs, lower capital and simplify the supply chain. To some, a more robust design with less material may sound counterintuitive, but to the Design & Engineering team at TricorBraun, this is just the type of challenge that they welcome with open arms.

Suero Oral is a functional beverage containing electrolytes that replenish the body's fluids lost either through exertion or through fever or vomiting due to illness. From the additive bottle designs that TricorBraun created, Suero Oral chose a fluid, subtly asymmetrical 2-ounce squeeze bottle with a flip-top closure for its convenient size and dispensing functionality. Each bottle is decorated with a full body shrink sleeve label carrying an image that reflects the image on the larger bottle of the product.

Men’s grooming product company Jack Black® LLC sells its extensive line of products through prestige department stores and specialty retailers. Since its founding in 2000, the company has taken a head-to-toe approach to grooming, but this year, the company is expanding its presence significantly in hair with the launch of a full hair care collection of eight products to complete its line. Jack Black began working on the package development for the dramatic new custom green bottles in design in May of 2014; products in the new packaging began shipping in February of 2015.

Renfro Foods was founded in 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas as a packaged spices and pepper sauce business. It later expanded to include other traditional Southern favorites. But before there was Mrs. Renfro's, there was the Dixieland brand of chow chow, a "heritage" brand still popular with many of Renfro's loyal customers. Wine bottles with 3-D labels won a Bronze award in the 2014 World Beverage Competition’s packaging division forThe Vibrant Vine Chardonnay Bottle with 3-D Label and 3-D Glasses bottles. The specialty labels provided a new perspective for Okanagan Villa Estate Winery’s Vibrant Vine wine. TricorBraun WinePak sourced the bottle which won the Bronze medal. The winery also won a Platinum, best of show award in the white wine tasting category.
