Skyr is a trendy milk product considered to be the perfect snack for children as it supports muscle development as they grow.

Q-Meieriene, a large Norwegian manufacturer of dairy products, has therefore launched a new range of Skyr products for children as well as a range of low-fat yogurts for adults and children. What’s special about these products is their innovative packaging - they don’t make a mess or have any of the other disadvantages normally associated with milk products consumed while on the go.

“We are very proud that Q-Meieriene chose Constantia Flexibles as the provider of the new pouch material,” says Karsten Bang, Regional Sales Manager at Constantia Flexibles.

“Drinks pouches are a new, extremely convenient as well as affordable option for packing,  yogurt and other dairy products that may otherwise cause a mess when being consumed,” adds Gerwin Schalk, Business Development Manager responsible for stand-up pouches in the Business Unit Confectionery, Processed Food. Ingrid Humlung and Øystein Skreien from Q-Meieriene are also convinced about this kind of packaging: “We are extremely happy to be able to pack our new yogurt products in a new way using this innovative material from Constantia Flexibles. It was a great project developing this alternative packaging method together with the experts at Constantia Flexibles and it enabled us to secure a significant market share in yogurts specifically aimed at children in the very first month after its launch.”
