Gepack, Portugal's premier provider of PET solutions to the pharmaceutical and food and bev sectors, has recently announced that it now offers 100% full compliance with Sensoplast DIN 18 closure systems. These closures, customarily found paired with glass containers and used with pharma products, are now completely compatible with many of Gepack's PET containers.

The advantages of switching to PET are numerous. The lightness of the material can lower the weight of shipments thereby reducing fuel needs. As a consequence, transportation costs can be reduced up to 30%, whopping savings for firms that ship locally, nationally, or even abroad. Further, PET tends to ship well as it's not as fragile as glass, with shipments arriving at their destination with 0% breakage.

PET also offers easier recycling than many materials currently available, including glass. The energy to recycle PET is often 70% LESS than glass or other plastic types, making it a better solution for firms that honestly wish to improve sustainability.

All of Gepack's PET solutions can be integrated into existing filling lines without extensive recalibration, nearly making the switch to PET a "plug and play" process. This is all a part of Gepack's strategy to create and continue to innovate within the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. Examples of this also include recent developments on unique screw and snap on neck finishes for nasal products, eye drops, e-cigarette press & drop containers, and more.

Gepack has implemented ISO9001, EN15993, HACCP, GMP processes and has ultimately developed a leading clean room compliant with the more exclusive IS06 protocols. The company has been FDA/DMF approved for some time, so all markets regulated by this norm can benefit from the company's packaging.  As the final product depends on raw material quality, Gepack always assures that it offers full compliance with food grade items as well as items in European and US pharmacopeia.
