Creating recyclable products is a critical step in fostering an eco-friendly liquid dispensing industry. 'Across our portfolio, recyclability has been a priority', says John Kuijpers, Commercial Programme Manager at AFA Dispensing. 'In the future, however, we can see further gains to be made. For example, the type of plastic being used can make a big difference.'

'It’s a similar story in the push towards post-consumer recycled material (PCR). We’re focused on integrating it into our portfolio, with tests showing that we can go to 67% PCR, or even higher, elevating the recyclability aspect of our products.'

AFA's OpUs Verte+® is made from 67% post-consumer recycled resin, reducing plastic waste while offering the tried-and-tested quality of the OpUs portfolio. It represents a significant leap for sustainable liquid dispensing and builds upon the success of its predecessor, the OpUs Verte, launched in 2019 with 47% PCR content, the highest percentage in the industry at the time.

With certain technical elements still crafted from virgin resin for enhanced longevity, the new sprayer boasts a guaranteed lifespan of over 10,000 strokes. This means that a single OpUs Verte+ sprayer can be reused for up to 27 bottles of 500 ml liquid product, making it a cost-effective and environment-friendly choice.

Similarly, the company's premium liquid dispensing solution, Flairosol, works without any planet-harming propellants or pressurized gases, offers more than 98% liquid evacuation, is almost fully recyclable, and uses a refill and recharge system to reduce waste.
