We are delighted to announce that Roberts Metal Packaging has won this year’s prestigious UK Packaging Awards with its 75ml Softline Extreme Aluminium Jars for “Lynx Clean Cut Look” & Lynx “Messy Look” hair care products.

“It was top marks for Roberts Metal Packaging in a competitive category. The judges loved the contemporary, cool look as well as an easy-to-open pack. One commented: “A genuine surprise and a pleasure to see. This is a very clever way to extend a brand; it’s well executed and distinctive.”

The brief was to supply a 75ml aluminium jar for Lynx’s hair products. Decoration and overall appearance had to complement the various packaging formats in the existing Lynx range. In addition, functionality was important and the packs had to be leak-proof with the lid easy to remove for consumers.

Roberts Metal Packaging developed the Softline Extreme range for hair products, which did the trick for Lynx. The brightly coloured lids, which can be removed and re-fitted in less than a quarter turn, are fully threaded and fitted with EPE liners to ensure a leak-proof seal. The decoration uses translucent colours on the lids allowing the aluminium substrate to show through, resulting in a metallic finish. The base decoration uses the aluminium substrate as part of the design, with reversed-out lettering for the Lynx logo. The pack is finished in a matt varnish further complementing the masculine look and feel.”
