To be "green" is very important for a global ecological company. Weleda has produced natural and organic skin care products through bio-dynamic farming for over ninety years and, naturally, the bottles they use for their products come in green glass.

The Stölzle glass group Austrian factory has recently developed a special sparkling green colour specifically for Weleda's glass requirements. STO produced on three production lines to meet Weleda's demand over the course of three weeks. The custom designed bottles come in three sizes: 50ml, 100ml and 200ml. The bottles will be delivered in 2013.

The STO factory in Köflach has been able to dedicate one of its furnaces to the production of coloured glass. For the major part of the year that glass is amber, however, during a ten week period, production is converted to green glass. This year the Weleda Green was moulded for the first time and was then followed by another custom green colour for another client.

Stölzle Glass Group has four European production sites across Europe and is a leader in both custom design and standard glass containers for prestige and beauty as well as healthcare and consumer. The UK plant in Yorkshire produces coloured glass all year round on two machines by the feeder colour method. This enables STO to offer a wide range of colours which are produced throughout the year on a regular colour rotating basis. The bottles can then be decorated in house applying state-of-the-art technology, such as hot foil blocking and multi-colour spraying.
