Trivium Packaging is honored to receive the BEST IN CLASS Pac Global Award in the category of Package Innovation in the Technical Design for its refillable bottles, used in the Bubble Tree Refillable Bubble System. In a category that has seen little innovation in generations, the Bubble Tree Bubble System is the first refillable and sustainable bubble bottle to be manufactured and sold in the USA.

Trivium worked with Bubble Tree to develop the refillable, aluminum bubble bottle with an ergonomic grip that would contain the bubble’s eco-friendly formula and work efficiently with the easy-to-use refillable solution which is released through a pouring spout, into the refillable aluminum bottle, allowing children to fill their bottles independently. The sustainable bottle also needed to work with a wand integrated into the cap to keep hands clean.

“We’re thrilled to see Bubble Tree’s innovative packaging recognized, putting the spotlight on a new use for our premium aluminum packaging solutions. The refillable bottles are made from infinitely recyclable aluminum, a material that has one of the highest recycling rates globally and can be recycled in full after its single-use,” says Trivium’s Vice President of Sustainability, Jenny Wassenaar. “Every step towards a more sustainable future matters. Throughout the process, the focus of the packaging has been to reduce the use of single-use plastic and ensure the availability of material resources for generations to come.”

The aluminum bottle is made using an impact extrusion manufacturing process, commonly used to produce aerosol-type containers. The expert production team at Trivium Packaging in Youngstown, OH created the ergonomic shape combined with the "soft touch" over varnish.

The Bubble Tree kit turns a wasteful activity into a more sustainable one. Many children's products are wasteful by nature, getting tossed aside after each birthday. The refillable bubble system creates an opportunity for parents to discuss the “three R’s” (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle), instilling an eco-conscience mindset at an early age.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Pac Global Awards for our innovative and sustainable packaging. Our ergonomic, refillable aluminum bottles were intentionally designed, keeping the consumer experience at the forefront, while contributing to a healthier planet, reducing plastic waste, and offering a fully recyclable, durable, and attractive vessel that can be reused endlessly. Trivium’s focus on sustainability and innovative expertise brought the vision we had for our bottles to life, exceeding our expectations.” said Bubble Tree founder + CEO Geoffrey Wasserman.

Bubbles are fun for any age, easy to play with, entertaining, and decorative. The mass appeal and relatively low cost open a door to change in the industry without sacrificing the appeal. Bubble Tree helps the environment by reducing waste and creating reusability. The eco-friendly bubble formulation excludes harmful chemicals used in some bubble products such as parabens, phthalate, sulfates, diethanolamine, formaldehyde, and nonylphenol ethoxylate.
