Pearl Airless new 200ml container

  • Silgan Dispensing Systems

MWV's most emblematic airless family, Pearl® Airless has been enhanced with a new container size, 200ml.  The new container size provides more versatility and flexibility to the Pearl Airless line, making it the ideal pack for products that require a larger container. The Pearl Airless 200ml is based on MWV's proprietary Rolling Bellow Technology™, the revolutionary 100 percent silicone, single-component engine.

This new version of Pearl Airless responds to the trend that we have seen growing in the personal care markets during the last couple of years, where airless pumps are increasingly used for personal care applications. Products such as men's shaving gels, hair conditioners, anti-cellulite creams, body lotions etc., that were traditionally packed in bottles or containers with a flip caps, are more and more seen in airless packs.

There are several reasons for this: the formulations are protected from contact with air and airless packs have typically superior evacuation properties.

The Pearl™ Airless dispenser is designed to ensuire clean, smooth, metal-free dispensing at every dose and offers a wide array of customization possibilities with silk screening, hot stamping, lacquering and metallization. It benefits a 48mm closure and is available in 50ml, 100ml and 150ml bottle sizes. The Pearl™ mini airless, a 32mm closure version of the original Pearl™ airless is available in 15ml, 30ml and 50ml bottle sizes.

Why standardization is key to driving sustainability across the packaging industry

Silgan Dispensing is a member of Cetie, and several members of our team are involved with its various working groups, including one that focuses on screw necks or glass bottles: the Flaconnage Geometry Group. We recently talked with Juan Albi, project team leader for Silgan Dispensing’s beauty and personal care, and Sandy Gregory, director of fragrance marketing, to share about our company’s relationship with Cetie and how new standards are driving sustainability across the industry.

How has the pandemic impacted consumers' use and relationship with fragrances?

The impact scent can have on a mood and overall sense of wellbeing is nearly impossible to overstate. One fragrance can elicit feelings of coziness and comfort, while another can give a person a sense of luxury and distinction. Given the seemingly endless variations of fragrances and personal uses, it’s no surprise the fragrance market has seen such steady profitability in recent years – at least, prior to COVID-19.
