Virospack has obtained the International Sustainability & Carbon PLUS (ISCC PLUS) certification, marking a significant milestone as the world’s first certification system for biomass and bioenergy.

The ISCC is a globally recognized sustainability certification system that encompasses various sustainable feedstocks, such as agricultural and forestry biomass, bio-based and circular materials, as well as renewables. It guarantees traceability, transparency, and a deforestation-free supply chain, protecting land with significant biodiversity value and carbon stock. Additionally, the ISCC standard adheres to human, labor, and land rights, along with good management practices. It offers methodologies, rules, and guidelines for calculating and verifying greenhouse gas emissions and reductions, earning recognition from numerous stakeholders in the plastic industry.

This certification applies to Virospack's range of plastic manufacturing lines in Spain, encompassing PP, TPE, PBT, PET, copolymers, HDPE, and LDPE. These are utilized in the production of packaging components such as droppers, caps, closures, applicators, pumps, and roll-ons.

Aïda Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer of Virospack, remarked, "Securing ISCC PLUS certifications for our production facility marks a significant milestone in our dedication to advancing a carbon-neutral circular economy. It reflects our ongoing commitment to providing customers with a comprehensive range of sustainable polymer solutions. ISCC PLUS certification ensures the utilization of recycled and renewable feedstocks, enabling the production of more sustainable products for our clients”.

Set for global environmental conservation, Virospack has established policies and goals, which are periodically evaluated and reviewed, striving to prevent environmental degradation and pollution by actively managing raw materials and products with minimal environmental impact. Additionally, Virospack has implemented environmental management systems and continuously seeks improvements.

Virospack's commitment also seeks to ensure safety in people's daily lives, which is why the company aims to enhance corporate activities and earn further trust from our stakeholders by expanding the use of ISCC-certified products.
