For the third time in a row, Albéa’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability has been confirmed by EcoVadis with the Gold level for the group.
In 2021, Albéa started a program to intensify the deployment of CSR at each of the group’s industrial sites. The effective implementation of this program in the 35 facilities is evaluated by the EcoVadis performance assessment.
Among the recently assessed plants, Albéa’s center of expertise for plastic tubes in Tortona, Italy, received the Platinum grade, the highest distinction and a first for the group. Four other sites across the world were also assessed, all scoring higher than 65/100. In Mexico, Queretaro (tubes) achieved gold and Matamoros (cosmetics & fragrance) was rated silver; in Poland, Lodz (tubes) was awarded gold; and in Indonesia, Semarang (cosmetics & fragrance) earned silver recognition.
“Our aim is to have 100% of our sites assessed by 2025”, says Gilles Swyngedauw, vice-president sustainability and innovation, “Our teams around the world have embraced the EcoVadis program with great dedication and are implementing many efficient local CSR initiatives. This year, our plant in Tortona has put the bar very high which is a great incentive for the future.”
The EcoVadis assessment supports the group’s ambitious CSR goals and commitment while fostering transparency with all business partners.
