Collcap & Staffordshire University student collaboration

The winner of Collcap’s annual collaboration with the design department of Staffordshire University has been announced. Stuart Grant, a second year student of Product Design (BA) will begin a coveted internship within Collcap Group this summer as part of the partnership between Collcap and the local university.

Stuart was chosen for this placement not only for excellent product design but his exceptionally creative approach by producing his own advertising video for the fragrance ‘Confidence’.

This is the second year of Collcap’s student design initiative, in which Collcap provides formal briefs focussing on primary packaging, product development and branding, which students then explore and develop as a design project. The winning designer is offered a paid intern placement with the company to further their knowledge and expertise in the work environment.

This on-going partnership provides an opportunity for Collcap to benefit up and coming talent within product design, and introduces the company to fresh young designers who often offer new perspectives on a design challenge.

Last year’s joint winners Zoe Baggott and Daniel Wichler enjoyed internships lasting several months; their work was instrumental in developing new projects, whilst gaining them vital experience within the industry.

Stuart will now have the opportunity to continue designing, and also further his ‘Confidence’ concept with Collcap Group, for a possible September launch. Stuart continues his journey with Collcap from May this year.
