On 26 June, the Dutch Packaging Awards ceremony was held at the Singer Theatre in Laren, Netherlands. WP was the runner-up with its 100% Recyclable Valve in the category for Food Sustainability. Dutch celebrity, Jort Kelder, handed over the award to our colleagues Bas den Boer, Director Innovation & Development, and William Ramon, Manager Future of Packaging.

Feedback from the jury:

"WP's 100% recyclable valve was chosen as runner-up because the closure works well. Dispensing is flawless, and the nozzle stays clean.

It is a good recyclable concept from mono-material. It avoids the problem of the traditional silicone valve contaminating the recycling stream. This new closure solves a problem for recyclers, increasing value and making the system work better. A great example of design for recycling!"
